the quest
The construction world is defined by outdated thinking, dominated by costly and polluting concrete, simply out of industry habit. An architecture firm with a history of alternative housing solutions discovered a simple way to revolutionize construction: harnessing water’s thermal inertia within walls. This idea was born in a summer conversation when Loretxu, one of the founding partners, was pregnant. Imagining her baby floating in amniotic fluid sparked the idea—a natural solution to reduce CO2 emissions in construction and climate control, making comfort more affordable.

/strategy
The construction industry is dominated by large organizations tied to power circles and resistant to change. Long-standing supplier relationships, architects lacking motivation to innovate, and overworked teams with no time to learn… Introducing the water panel as an alternative to concrete was a challenge. Fortunately, a growing segment seeks nature-aligned solutions, and Passive House studies offered the best gateway for this promising technology. But realism was key: many sustainable alternatives are underdeveloped or not scalable. We had to prove the product’s viability from day one.
/purpose
The client knew that the Water Panel would face many adversaries (the concrete lobby), so we needed to quickly connect with those whose awareness could open the door to such a promising technology. Water, and life itself, offered a vast array of perceptions from which we could find a common purpose through a real alternative that would allow humanity to inhabit the planet in harmony with nature.
the BRAVE Brand
A young Chilean woman steps up to the challenge of introducing this groundbreaking technology to the world. Like David facing numerous Goliaths, Loretxu embraced the task with the joy and positive spirit that comes from knowing she holds a powerful solution that will benefit everyone.
Brand identity
The thermal inertia of water is well known to anyone in the construction industry, but this technology raised many questions: What about electrical wiring? Can pictures be hung? Are there window limitations? Is there a risk of leaks? The brand needed to inform and reassure on these points while conveying the unique origins of the technology. And this was just the beginning—the company was developing multiple new technologies to revolutionize tomorrow’s home on a fully sustainable foundation.
Naming
The project initially came with a purely descriptive name, Water Panel, but we needed to cleverly and empathetically navigate all potential barriers to entry. Mentioning water seemed to raise more doubts than it resolved. The final approved name directly referenced the comfort created by the technology and its natural origins, while also giving a proud nod to the Latin roots of the innovative company. The result was NIDO: nature based home The panel (NIDO CELL)was just the beginning. The ultimate goal: a fully nature-based living.
Behind the logo
In nature, spirals have existed for millions of years, aiding growth, optimizing mechanisms, and minimizing space. Linked to biomimicry, spirals in this brand image merge business solidity with the organic world, with the letter "d" forming a central spiral. This adds softness and an organic touch, creating a unique balance in the NIDO logo and highlighting the company’s innovative spirit.
